The Oak Park & River Forest Kappa Foundation expands the charitable and community impact of the Oak Park–River Forest (IL) Alumni Chapter through youth development, educational enrichment, mentorship, scholarships, and community investment.
The Oak Park & River Forest Kappa Foundation was established to create sustainable opportunities that empower young people and strengthen the communities we serve.
Through mentorship, scholarship, educational enrichment, career exposure, and community-focused programming, the Foundation helps provide young people with the resources, relationships, and experiences necessary to achieve, lead, and thrive.
Working alongside the Oak Park–River Forest (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, the Foundation provides a charitable platform through which individuals, families, corporations, and community partners can invest directly in programs that create meaningful and lasting impact.
Foundational pillars guiding our programmatic scope and charitable giving.
Help youth, especially those of high-school age, select courses and educational pathways leading to vocations compatible with their aptitudes, interests, and personal goals.
Assist students through professional career mentorship and Kappa League programming, supporting progress in their chosen fields while encouraging meaningful community service.
Provide youth, particularly those with limited access to opportunity, with positive recreational, cultural, and enrichment experiences.
Promote the value of higher education and assist students in their educational pursuits through scholarships, grants, mentorship, and access to relevant resources.
Increase student awareness of potential career choices through exposure to a broad range of disciplines, professions, experiences, and positive role models.
Provide financial assistance to deserving individuals pursuing higher education leading to a four-year baccalaureate or postgraduate degree from a fully accredited institution.
Our work is centered on creating access and expanding opportunity.
Through mentorship, scholarships, educational enrichment, career exposure, cultural experiences, and service, the Foundation invests in young people while helping develop the next generation of leaders.
Our goal is not simply to create programs—it is to create experiences, relationships, and opportunities that can change the trajectory of a young person’s future.
